LVCVS AVGVSTI - Lugo (LUGO)

It was founded by Paulo Fabio Maximo in the name of August in the years 14-13 b.C. in a little plateau over Miño river. During nearly three centuries of  pax romana it was converting in one of most importants cities of hispanic northeast. In III a.C. century and before the barbarian menace was rounded by the wall that at present it is preserved in all its perimeter.

Murallas de Lugo It has a perimeter of 2,140 meters and occupy a surface of 28 ha. Their high vary from 10 to 15 meters and their thickness (6 meters) allow the existence of a sentry walk in the upper part. Of the 85 cubes that originally had, are preserved 72 perfects and 8 sectioned. They were declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 2000.
